Hooters FCR Spring Concours
Had a great day at the Florida Crown Region, PCA annual Spring Concours D' Elegance today at the Hooters on San Jose Blvd in Jacksonville, Florida.
24 Porsches entered. There were 3 1999 996 C2 Coupes entered so they made us a class by ourselves. Big Red (my car) won the class, and was also chosen by the Hooters Girls as their favorite car of the 24 in the show.
Here are three pictures of the concours:

I didn't know you could concours "hooters." I always thought they were fine "as is!"
Oh wait.... you meant the Concours D' Elegance was AT the Hooters, not ON them.... OK I get it now!
Did the "large Wiener" have anything to do with you winning your class?
Nice pics!!!

Well, I didn't think anybody really wanted to see a bunch of pictures of cars.
I even thought about FS'ing myself out of the second photo so as not to upset the ummmm...balance of that shot. (note: anyone who want's to have fun with photoshop, go ahead and have fun. I simply ask that you don't put RIAD in the photo. LOL)
If anybody wants to see any of the "other" shots (cars and "trophy" winners) they should probably already be posted at www.PCAFCR.org. (red bar, PHOTOS)
The Big Weiner had no impact on the outcome of the Hooters Girls Favorite Car in Show. But I am a big tipper there on a weekly basis and they know me.
The first photo is Antoinette. I have had a (silent) crush on her for months and try to sit at one of her tables each time I go. She is a professional model as well as a Hooters Girl.
Summer (third photo) is new on my crush list. Her boyfriend was a Ride-ALong with me at our January DE and now he is ordering a Panamera (sorry - I set the hook, but he took the wrong bait). However, Summer immediately recognized me and asked to be a Ride-Along with me at our September DE. Unfortuanately, I think she was referring to my car.

Are you a member of FCR? E-mails galore.
Are you a member of PCA? ditto
If you are not a member, no problem. We invite EVERYONE to our events. FCR schedule is always posted on our website, and the web-based newsletter is always available.
Or you can e-mail me at Varyak@aol.com and I can hook you up with all of our events.
Florida Crown Region has one of the most active schedules in PCA. We had 4 events in April, and we have at least two to three events EVERY month.
And if this is the only event you care about all year, mark your calendar for the first Saturday in May 2010. Same event, same time, same place, every year.

Nicolaasdb,
I could write a love sonnet that would rival Shakespeare when it comes to Alcantara covered steering wheels in Porsches. The shift boot matches as well, with Alcantara and red stitching.
