Default Radiator Fans

I was just wondering at what temperature the radiator fans should turn on. Mine haven't been clicking on until 104 degrees C (according to the diagnostic in the HVAC controls), which is right at the right end of the "0" in "180" on the temperature gauge.

Aside from that, I've got a terrible need to clean up my radiators, just took a look and they're fairly clogged--but that's what saturdays are for.

The fans should turn on LOW speed when AC is on or coolant temperature reaches around 200F and switch to high speed when temperature reaches 215F. When fans are in stage 1 (low speed), you may not hear them, but on high speed, you will hear them inside the car.

Well mine are kicking on at 220F. Is this even a problem or was there a range of relays or fuses or what have you. I'm a mechanical engineer wires and such are voodoo to me.

Verify that the low speed are turning on. Start car and turn AC on. Go to front of car and listen. If they are not, check fuse and relays. High speed will not turn on until 215F+.

Well when I turn on the car and hit the AC I can hear fans go to high speed immediately. Low speed fans are on all the time with AC on/off.

Lot of worry about nothing then I guess?
