no rattle LWFW-clutch combo
Hi all,
I will like to have the advantage of the LWFW but without the rattle. Which will it be the right Clutch-LWFW for me to install in a '02 996 C2 that is a daily driver with occasional DE track driving?

You may be told it won't rattle.... but it will rattle...it's just a question of how much and how loud....
Mine sounds like a cement mixer when I'm at a stoplight with the clutch out in neutral..... I only notice it now when the windows are down... You get used to it... For me the advantages outweigh the noise related issues...
Its just comes down to what you're willing to live with for performance.... IMHO.....

Get a springed clutch assembly from Spec Clutches and you are on your way back to quiet.
The 996/986 all came with dual mass flywheels (sprung) and a solid clutch, replacing the flywheel with a LW single mass flywheel and keeping the original clutch introduces the "rattle". Replace the clutch with a sprung unit and you are back at parity with the original design.
