Default Pics link to Sunday's So Cal Porsche swapmeet

I know a few folks from RL (inc. David A) were planning on going out, but haven't seen any pics posted yet.
Of course I forgot my camera, but Wayne at Pelican Parts came through as always posting a plethora of pictures on his site.
http://www.pelicanparts.com/swapmeet...t_08/Page1.htm

This weekend seems to kickoff the show and racing season, and coming just in time!
On Saturday, they had the huge Porsche & VW Literature and Toy show, saw Seinfeld again this year, and I picked up a couple Martini racing models and a beautiful 1969 Heuer stopwatch (don't tell my wife!).

No affiliation with Pelican, but Wayne is the consumate Porsche guy, he even hauls his kids around in his 959, gotta love it.

This year was held at the German Phoenix Club, "biergarten" style, about 75* and mostly sunny, with Bitburger on draft!

Here's Wayne's original thread:

Dave,

Now THOSE were the p-cars of my youth... the 959 reminds me of a car one of the cheeses in a company I used to work for had, and that thing looked like a beast in the parking lot (reserved, of course)... Thanks for sharing the pictures. Where was this event held? If they decide to hold any more, please post the information, I'd love to checkout the next one.

Hey Don,

Well just doing what I can to help get you guys through winter.

It seems like what we have in good weather, we have to pay for in bad traffic.

Hey Rudy, can you believe they call this a swapmeet?

This was at the Phoenix Club in Anaheim.
(Most folks don't know that the Germans who founded Anaheim came up with the name because it was their "home by the Santa Ana river.")

I did post it in the Western region get-togethers, but next time I'll try and post up here too.

Glad y'all enjoyed the pics!

+1.

We've had 3 days of heavy rain here, and now the temperature is going down. It's supposed to be 18 degrees tonight. Should make for an interesting commute tomorrow.

So that's how they do swapmeets up there? I think I'd like those kind much better; I might even get my wife to go to something like that (she's used to the regular kind - where you have to sort out the stolen stuff from the regular stuff and the regular stuff from the junk, etc.)

On the other hand, if they have any good stuff for sale I may not want her to go... much easier to explain (hide) an "investment" (you spent $500 on gas??? Well... er... um.. yeah...)

Anyway, those were really great pics. I think it would be really easy to lose track of time walking through there.

Please do post info for the next one.

Thanks,
Rudy
