Wheel spacer sizes and driving impact

Wheel spacer sizes and driving impact
I've done multiple searches on this issue and can't seem to find enough info in one spot to draw a consistent conclusion. Question are the optimum wheel spacers front and rear to use for a stock 2001 996 18 inch wheel C2 daily driver to give the "best look" without detriment to driving? I may want to lower ths suspension later. I've heard 7mm front and 15mm rear and then the opposite...?

opposite AND some run 15's up front too...
I think if you ran a poll though you would find 15 front - 7 rear is mostly regarded as the "best" and there would be other opinions....

Get one pair of each (7mm & 15mm) but MAKE SURE you got the longer bolts need to fit for each size.
Then install one side 7 front and 15 rear and the other 15 front and 7 rear. Then decide what looks best to you and change the one side to match your preferred look. That way you are changing only one side a second time.

As far as detriment to driving, what do you mean by that?

Actually ivangene's backwards, but since he posted before me, apparently I fall into the "other opinions" column.
The rear is perfect, although 15 front would be great too.

for the pros and track ******... they can def tell the diff if they are tuning their car... but to us common folks, its fine either way.

I am almost 100% certain that most people will not be able to tell a 14mm difference in the front on a street car. And on the track, 14mm wider in the front might actually help the car...

I have them backwards BUT have winter tires on so I am reserving my final opinion till spring when I swap wheels/tires
Till then I just drive in reverse but since I have so many miles the DMV won't care if I remove a few

Spacer width also needs to factor in the rim width+offset and tire sizing for proper clearance.
for me-
Street- 15f 23r on 7"(55et) & 9"(55et). 225/255 tires.
AX (planned)- 15f 23r on 9"(52 et) & 10"(65et). 265/285.
Track- no spacer on 9" (46et) & 11" (63et). 255/295.
