I installed these in silver:

They are outstanding! Perfect fit and they look amazing.

Looks great--the install sounds kind of scary. Was it bad?

Nice job, looks great, love the new look. It would be awesome if you had taken some pics throughout this Mod or simple write-up? I was also considering it but the idea of removing the whole gauge and also the different needles is very intimidating, I may break or damage something in the process, Oops... I am sure I am not alone here and many would also consider this Mod if they know exactely how this can be done safely. Cheers,

I had that feeling when disassembling the accelerator pedal assembly and bringing it into my house. No matter how unlikely, it was easy to imagine the shame of having to call for a tow to the local indy because i had disassembled the pedal and couldn't get it back together...

They look nice. I think it should be standard.

I'm thinking about putting the aluminum bezels on mine for extra bling.

Ed, after all the other work you have done on your car this should be a snap for ya. There is a DIY on Renntech. I haven't opened the pod, but I have had the pod out, it's not too bad (hardest part was removing the hazard switch for me).

I had the aluminum gauge faces on my '04. I really liked them much better that the black faces I had seen in other 996 cars.

to do this perfect you need to wear gloves and preferably be inside a dust controlled room, similar to a paint booth. the gloves are to prevent fingerprints on the clear plastic lenses and on the gauge themselves. the controlled room is to avoid fine dust and air particles against the lenses/gauges which will normally be invisble in normal to low light conditions, but will be visible when light shines on the guage cluster. some guys only change the tach and leave the rest in black. this looks pretty cool as well.
