You would need to call Sunset, (800) 346-0182. I have found them to be the best deal on about everything oem.

They will be getting paid by PCNA for all the labor involved with an RMS fix, which includes taking out and re-installing the clutch. If they want to charge you for reinstalling a clutch that you supply, I would suggest you don't want to have a relationship with that particular dealer.

call SUNCOAST (not sunset). They are in FL, closer faster and 2 day shipping.

He already has a quote from Suncoast for $465. See the bottom of the first page in this thread.

As soon as the CPO is over, never take it to Hendrick again....only place to go in Charlotte area is http://www.eurowerks.us/ (704-821-3061) Jim, Nick and Scott are all great to work with and very knowledgeable! Best Indy shop I've ever dealt with.

I never was very impressed with Hendrick Porsche, either sales or service. About 3 or 4 years ago they were a Premier Porsche Dealer, then they lost that designation. I'm really uncertain how they got that back again.

Been there done that on two occasions. I also want to add they replaced the clutch for no labor charge. Get the clutch done, it's much cheaper since the RMS is being repaired and covered by Porsche.

Even if the IMS is not leaking, consider getting the parts updated prophylactically while CPO is paying the labor rate.

If the IMS hasn't leaked by now I think I'd let sleeping dogs lie. Some cars are prone, others aren't I think. Mine has had both RMS and IMS fixed twice on PCNA's dime. Next one's are on me.

yea, but when you open it up and there is a big ole greasy mess, how can you tell if the IMS is leaking since the RMS drips right onto it? I agree - dont fix what aint broken, but thats a tough call (though the instruction sound like this is no 10 second job eighter, rather complicated and requires some tools)
anyone have a time for JUST the IMS job once you are in there.....?

Now, replacing those three bolts, does that prevent the heavy-in-the-pants inducing IMS terror syndrome? Or is it just a seal that leaks oil?

Wanted to keep all of you posted on this...

Hendrick Porsche here in Charlotte confirmed that I need to get the RMS replaced and it wil be covered under my CPO (3 weeks left on the CPO...). I asked them what price of clutch replacement was and they weren't close to the sunset price ($445). I told them what sunset quoted me and asked if they could match, or get close to it. They couldn't, but agreed that I could buy the clutch set from Sunset and Hendrick would install for free when they changed out the RPS.

I am very much impressed that they agreed to install the new clutch even though I bought it from one of their competitors! Very nice!

Got a question though... how do I know that they will install my new clutch and not just say they do (guess it is a trust thing)... should I ask them to show me the old clutch afterwards?
