The most common response I got from sports car owners in MA is that the Staties wont pull you over for not displaying the required front plate. they'll certainly tack that onto the fine if pulled over for something else. there is an older (green) MA plate that doesnt require a front mate, so there's a double standard in the state anyway. Get the bumper plugs from Eric and keep your front plate in the boot as I do!

Even if PA was a 2-plate state, it's not like you would be in danger of getting a ticket for no front plate on your C4S. They can not write you a ticket for that unless the car is on a public street!

I haven't used the front plate in my 7 years in Texas. Keep a low profile and don't give the police a reason to pull you over.

Yes, get bumper plugs .....

Trust me...mount that plate. With the increasing shortfalls in the local and state economies, it seems they're really going for these easy revenue generators. I'm wondering if anyone else in the city of LA notice more and more people being pulled over as of late?

I had no front plates for a while, then my remounted front plate flew off on the highway thanks to the poor excuse of a mounting system that Porsche has and didn't bother to replace it. Then I removed it and got pulled over again. This time it wasn't a fix it ticket and the costs involved are simply not worth it.

I have a yellow car so it's already too visible to the cops. I don't need to give them a reason to even look my way for a possible infraction. I've never gotten a moving violation since I started driving so I don't intend to start now.

Unless the cops are living in the garage with the mice.

Drive faster, they'll never see your front end.

Tighter state budgets are begging the enforcement authorities to look for any source of revenue -- why antagonize them and open yourself up to such a silly violation? I mounted mine lower so that I didn't have to drill into paint.

When I lived in Nevada, I did not run a front plate. As a matter of fact, I had to have the nose repainted due to a bad scratch, and I had the body guy fill all the holes (including the tow hook spot), so now the nose is 100% smooth. No problems with the man at all. In fact, one officer came over when I was pumping gas one time, and I though "BOHICA", but he just wanted to check out the car. Most cops are cool, some are dicks, just like any other profession.

Mine's mounted. Does it detract from the lines of the car? Yes. Does it help me avoid my aversion to law enforcement? Yes. I'll take the latter.

At the track Saturday, I saw a very cool front plate mount that was basically an adaptation of a tow hook. It screws into the tow hook and takes about 15 seconds to install or remove.

Also, while it is unlawful to drive without a front plate in TX, I believe it is not a moving violation and won't result in points on your license.

Ohio requires front plates.

I have 3 cars
0 front plates

1 ticket in 6 years of driving without front plates. My wife's been pulled over a couple of times but magically attractive females always get let go with just a warning.

Is the idea that you mount it for street use and then pull it off at the track? At this point, I think the only thing I would really worry about without a front plate is getting towed. Though, I would hope they wouldn't tow just for missing a plate...
