Front plates?
So I finally got my plates today and was really bummed to see two of them.
How many of you in front-plate-required states actually have them mounted up front?

I had the front plate on my OEM bumper, so ugly...then I upgraded to an aftermarket GT3 bumper and could not bring himself down to drill 2 holes for this front plate. I am hoping to stay low profile enough to avoid a ticket in my area Though I do see a lot of sport cars without one too, so looks like everyone is taking chances... Cheers,

In my 15 years of living in DFW, I've been given only 1 ticket for no front plate, and it was by DPS. I did get a warning one year, also by DPS.
Based on my track record, it would seem that DPS cares more about front plates than city police. So don't give DPS any reason to pull you over.

Since I bought mine used - it had plugs. NY requires a front plate, so I've got one now. I also figure that I've rarely seen a car in Germany or Switzerland without a plate. No big deal.

It KILLED me to put holes in the GT3 bumper but it's not worth the crap that you get in NJ with no front plate.
I did not run one on my Boxster S and it just gave cops an excuse.

ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR FREAKING MIND?
Do NOT mount that plate!
Texas repealed the front plate law in Sept '07. Why are they sending you two plates? Ask them to show you a dated, current regulation sheet requiring it.
And for what it's worth, we sell more plugs in CA than any other state - and CA is a front plate state!
Go plateless!
OK, edit: found the bill, it's been stalled, gets lumped into other crap and gets tabled. On the way for this year:

MN--Front plate state. But I'm amazed how many P-cars show up at our local meets without front plates. Hmm. Might have to order some bumper plugs and try going au natural.

I the "nice" section of the parking lot by the office where people park their sports cars away from the other traffic, I didn't see a single front plate (Corvette, Charger, 944, and my 911). They really do look much better without. I think I may need a set of bumper plugs.
Let's hope that bill passes now. Perhaps I should write a letter in support of the bill.

Gone for one year without the front plate in Missouri. Kansas is just next door without front plates so in the Kansas City area its likely not on the cops radar, so to speak.

i have seen a company selling a gadget so you can put your frontplate under the front bumper and when pulled over electronically put it up (or when parking to stay out of trouble) I think it was about 50 bucks and well worth it....I never had a cop mention anything about not having a front plate. They are always confused by my NY license... in CA.
