Are muffler bypass pipes street legal? I am not very concerned about the emissions aspect, simply the sound aspect. I really do not want to get pulled over simply because my car is too loud. I do not know if it matters but I live in Ohio.

Ha, well you'll read that they are "smog legal" but they are loud, no make that LOUD.

How loud? Well they exceed the db limit at many racetracks.

But is it cool?
Hell yeah!

I got mine for about $150 from a source here in OC (also lists on eBay), so for that price it's worth it for the occassional fun run and leave 'em on for a couple weeks.

But law enforcement will frown if they hear your exhaust, but I was never hassled.

(I've actually got a Fabspeed now, but still have the bypass pipes.)

loud enough to be removed from my car! BUT punched it right next to a cop... really loud, and he just looked at me. ???
I know they are loud but so are Harley's and they are legal.... dont know

Yep, never quite understood how they could get away with that racket, yet loud car exhausts = tickets.
