I don't know Jake. The price is obviously too good to let go but you have consider the safety factor.

What are you going to do with 4 225/40 tires? It will take you a minimum of 2 years to wear out the first pair, unless they start to fall apart. By then the 2nd pair will be 8 years old.

I would not buy those tires at ANY price!

I just put a new set of Sumitomo's on my A3.

My tire place matched TireRack price, was actually cheaper by a few dollars w/o shipping.

But I did check the manufacture date before he installed them, just to make sure he wasn't selling me old tires.
They were made about 3 months prior iirc.

Tires manufacutered within the last 12 mos are fine. I just got a set of Nexen 3000 ZR rated for about $450 delivered to my front door. Very happy with them.

As others have said...those tires are garbage. The rubber has hardened for sure, they'll be terrible to drive on and dangerous to boot.
