Default Salvage yard parts for 996?

I think I've read about a few of you picking up parts from salvage yards. My passenger side seat switch died and I'm reluctant to drop $300 on a new switch from the dealer. Are these sorts of things readily available at most salvage yards? I remember picking up parts for '65 VW back in the day, but somehow it seems weird to find a modern day part there...

Thanks for the links so far.

Manil, that site had a great list of parts. Unfortunately they want more than Suncoast does for them! I'm sure it depends on the part, but it was still wacky!

Tim, another great site, but didn't find what I was looking for...

Keep them coming...Has anyone gone and pulled their own parts for 996s?

Try OklahomaForeign.com. They are exclusive to Porsche and have been reasonable with me.

FWIW, LA Dismantler is very expensive, and I was not pleased the one time I used them.

Parts Heaven (www.partsheaven.com) located in Hayward CA just a mile or less from where I work. Damn handy for me! This place collects/then sells wrecked Porsches, all models, all years as parts.

Sincerely,

Macster.
