Sorry to dig up this old thread..but do those 997 door handles easily swap with the 996 handles? I like the 997 handles much better. From a functionality standpoint, not just looks. I sometimes am annoyed by my 996 'lift' handle actuation when my hand slips off. Would much prefer the 997 "pull" type.
There are two ways to do this.
1) contact wicked motorsports, they make an "upgrade kit", costs 1250 per door handle, iirc doesn't require major surgery
2) Source scrap 997 doors , cut out the door hand box, weld into the 996 door, blend and paint (as iforged did on the car in this thread)
Neither way is going to be cheap, its major surgery for option 2 though, so if you do it call wicked maybe they cut you a deal
