Default What to do in Phoenix?

Heading to Phoenix next week for a Christmas vacation. We're actually staying in Sedona but we'll make a couple of shopping runs to Phoenix I'm sure. Any places I've got to check out?

1. Have drink(s) at the Four Seasons in North Scottsdale (Troon) - one of the most beautiful resorts I've ever stayed at.
2. Hike up Pinnacle Peak (next to the resort) and check out the golf course and the homes
3. Eat at Michael's in North Scottsdale
4. Go one of the high end auctions - Barrett Jackson, RM, etc.
5. Enjoy the weather!!

check out Jerome, south of Sedona, if you are interested in a small quirky town built on a hillside with various small shops, etc... In Sedona, make lunch reservations at Enchantment Resort which gives you access to the property - nice canyon area...

Thanks guys, I'll impress my wife with things to do! As for the weather, yeah it's -30 here now so the weather break will be nice.

Are you tsking your P car? Take 89A north to flagstaff. It's a great drive even if you don't have your porsche. Then take the 17 back down to phoenix. (less than 2 hours)

As far as shopping goes the following are nice places:

1. Kierland Commoms (North Scottsdale)
2. Scottsdale Fashion Square (South Scottsdale)
3. The Biltmore (Central Phoenix)
4. Desert Ridge Market Place (North central Phoenix)

Have Fun!

PS dont expect temps much higher than the 30's or 40's in Sedona. In Phoenix Maybe the 50's or 60's this time of year.

Thanks John, I appreciate the tips. No P-car for me until probably March but I think I'll check out a dealership or two while we're there. Although the weather has broke recently it was in the -30's for the past week or so. A 60 degree day will be a bonus!

So, head North out of Sedona up Oak Creek Canyon for an amazing road/drive.

Stop at the lookout at the top for the views, and Indian Jewelry

Head N out of Flagstaff and visit Sunset Crater - amazing lava flows and volcanic craters

Head through the park towards the painted desert to the Indian ruins at Wupatki.

Head back to Sedona via the same route - easily as much fun on the way down.

Book a table at the Silver Saddle Room @ The Cowboy Club - excellent steaks.

Shopping at Talapaque, just South of the Y in Sedona.

Also a great grill there at the oak Creek Brewery - great beer as well!

Wave if you see a white Land Rover LR3 going past - that will be me.
