Default Re-program ECU?

The x51 is going into my 2002C4 Convertible. The mechanic has told me that in order to take advantage of the increased performance the engine software has to re-programmed. Furthermore, he also recommended installing a heavier duty clutch. What do you folks think?

you definitely need the x-51 program for your ecu...

stock clutch is fine... unless your is worn out? you don't need to do another clutch here... your mechanic is probably suggesting it because its easy to get at cause the engine will be out....

Yes your right, Pete. The clutch has a couple of burned spots. Funny, the clutch was only replaced last year, and the car isn't driven on a daily basis. Indeed, the only cost is the parts and not the labor since as you have pointed out, the whole entire set up is apart.
