is rather light, or less heavy that other more complicated valve technology.

For instance: The Porsche's DOHC heads and such really add weight to the engine. The 2.5l 6 is around 400lbs, though I wouldn't expect even the 3.8l engine to weight much more. It is in some ways just more empty space in the same engine block as the smaller displacement versions.

Corvette designers/engineers were tasked if you can believe what you read in All Corvettes Are Red to remove weight. By some measure I think they succeeded.
