Default For grins, got a guaranteed purchase price from CarMax today...

Saw a CarMax facility as I was driving. Thought I'd check on this niche economy, so I pulled in.

What a joke! They offered me a whole $14k for what they called a pristine, excellent condition, extremely clean and well-maintained CPO '03 vehicle! haha

I'll I can say is 'WOW!' Wondering how many people are dumping such nice cars at those kinda prices.

Even though I don't know the color, mileage or any other options on the car, I am willing to offer you $16K in cold hard cash... how about that!

Wow... $14k, huh??? I see your $16k and raise you to $17K...

Unbelievable - was CarMax really expecting to get it for that price? I wonder what they would have marked it up to....

and if only you had told them you will be purchasing a car for them, you could of gotten a couple more grand. Carmax is a joke. The "uneducated' car buyers always get suckered in. There is a new chain that is starting to pop up called Cars Direct. you only pay 399 over the auction value. I love how the small print in their commercials say prices of their cars don't reflect auction values.

There's no market for rubbish such as yours. Give me a couple thousand to remove this eyesore from your driveway. Your neighbors have been laughing at you for too long, and I don't mind soiling my hands a little.

Those places prey on people who are too lazy to sell their own cars OR need cash right now and are willing to take it in the shorts to sell today!

These same type of businesses can be found in any comodity... homes, businesses, inventory, law suits, gold/silver, diamond rings, ect, ect..... they are in business and have to make a profit too, so they low ball you, wholesale the goods for a small profit and a dealer/vendor sells them for a little more profit... simple, effective business........ for stupid people
