Default New Owner Saying Hello (pics)

I bought this car in September, so this post is a couple months overdue. Better late than never? I realize what a tough crowd this is, so I hope you’ll forgive me for the delay. I already know some of you from the Cayman-Club forum (hi Mooty), where I spent a couple fun years. Prior to that I was a RennLister on the 944 forums, although that account lapsed ages ago. Now it’s good to be a RL Member again.

About the car: 2003 996 C2 6-speed coupe, black on black. I purchased it from local P-dealer with a new CPO warranty. Car has 28k miles. It was originally registered in GA, then in FLA, but arrived in Cali in 2005 with only ~10k miles, so clearly its South-Eastern owner wasn’t driving it every day.

Factory options: Full Aerokit II (option XAA), M030, switch-able PSE, manual leather sport seats with backs painted black, red seat belts, and 18” Carrera lightweight wheels. Other than that it’s a bit of a stripper… no PSM, no Bose, no leather, no lumbar, power or heat in the seats, etc (all of which is fine with me since it saves a little bit of weight).

As you can see in the photos, the car is at full US-spec ride height. My winter projects are X-74 suspension (just waiting for the parts to arrive), oil-pan from X-51 kit and the factory aluminum oil-pan shield. Oh, and some SS brake lines. Otherwise she’ll be kept stock since I need to keep it streetable for weekends. And, yes, I am one of those track-people…

Anyway, hello everyone! Enjoy the pics! Sorry the car isn’t uber-clean, but I’m firmly in the camp that believes cars are meant to move rather than sit, so the pics reflect that.

John

Welcome aboard! But get away from this forum and go DRIVE it! I don't understand why so many 2003 cars have such few miles on them. (I have 32,000 on my 2006). Log off and then turn that key with your LEFT hand....

That's a cool pic, too, a different angle on the city....

I'll have to drive over on that side next time I'm up there.

Congrats!

Nice looking Porsche Quickx, sounds as though you know exactly what your new ride needs to become track ready. Welcome back to the dark side!
