That is exactly my sentiment as well.

Malakas,

That was my predictiment...I thought it was better to pay too much and preserve the warranty.
My car is off warranty in March and (hopefully) I will never be back to the dealer

I definitely should be able to do the Test Drive piece myself

Are you sure about this Andy? I thought the 3.4s called for new plugs every 30,000 miles. I'll have to check my manual to verify what the actual interval is.

My 2000 C2 is just under 44,000 miles so I will soon need to figure out how I am going to go about getting the work done. Initially, my thought was to do all the work myself such as the oil change etc, which I do anyway, and just have the dealer do all of the checks.

Nevermind. I just double checked and you're correct it's every 30K. I did mine at 45K service because I didn't own the car when the 30K service was done and I wanted to make sure the car had new plugs.

I need the for Dummies book!

I'm with you on this... it's easy to have the checklists, but doing some of the work also requires some level of skill.

Thos items above are clearly not part of the 30K service. $320 labor to flush the brakes? Geesh.

It is a good thing that the previous owner was the one that had to "bend over and grab his ankles" and not you! Actually, it looks like they may have gotten him in both ends at the same time!

The brake flush is not part of the service either - it's done every 2 years outside of the service schedule. I think I recently got charged $150 for the same job. Looks like these guys are pricey.... $50 for a single wiper blade - these guys are good!

Deckman,
Take away the $1632 for the bumper cover and the $1437 is more reasonable? I love the $3 charge to process the paperwork for the order. It looks like they waived the stapling charge.
The PO brought the car to the dealer and told them that he was selling the car and wanted them to do the 30k service check and fix everything. I think they took him at his word and fixed him too.
I basically traded my 1972 with spares and trailer for this car. Ending my 24 year track addiction cold turkey. I still get the shakes when I'm around hot early air cooled engines. Maybe it is just the gas and oil fumes?
