... the service departments at the dealers/indy shops are slick... I actually am trying to convince myself that having them do the 45K will give me some type of piece of mind. Im sure, in actuality, that's ridiculous.... but im still leaning that way However, if they do find something, I would hope it would be covered under warranty...

Malakas,
That was my predictiment...I thought it was better to pay too much and preserve the warranty.
My car is off warranty in March and (hopefully) I will never be back to the dealer

Not that it necessarily applies here since the OP's car is an >'02..but the early 3.4 cars called for plugs every 15K miles so they'd need to be done at the 45K service.
Even including plugs and cabin filter I still did my 45K service myself for <$200 and the oil I use is $10 quart.

Are you sure about this Andy? I thought the 3.4s called for new plugs every 30,000 miles. I'll have to check my manual to verify what the actual interval is.
My 2000 C2 is just under 44,000 miles so I will soon need to figure out how I am going to go about getting the work done. Initially, my thought was to do all the work myself such as the oil change etc, which I do anyway, and just have the dealer do all of the checks.

Wayne,
RennTech.org has the major and minor inspetion checklists. It doesn't tell you HOW to do it be it lists WHAT to check/do.

This is a good start, but the real problem is re the 'How to do this'. For instance, minor maintenance mentions that check the Power Steering fluid levels and bellows... I'm sure I can check the fluid level, but I don't even now what a bellow is, where to find it and what the difference between a good and a bad one is.
I need the for Dummies book!

I'm with you on this... it's easy to have the checklists, but doing some of the work also requires some level of skill.

The brake flush is not part of the service either - it's done every 2 years outside of the service schedule. I think I recently got charged $150 for the same job. Looks like these guys are pricey.... $50 for a single wiper blade - these guys are good!

Deckman,
Take away the $1632 for the bumper cover and the $1437 is more reasonable? I love the $3 charge to process the paperwork for the order. It looks like they waived the stapling charge.
The PO brought the car to the dealer and told them that he was selling the car and wanted them to do the 30k service check and fix everything. I think they took him at his word and fixed him too.
I basically traded my 1972 with spares and trailer for this car. Ending my 24 year track addiction cold turkey. I still get the shakes when I'm around hot early air cooled engines. Maybe it is just the gas and oil fumes?
