Default Wing Mounting Options

Hey all,
I recently picked up a 2002 GT2 rear OEM wing...Aside form being the wrong color, its perfect!
I have no idea how to get this bad boy on my 99' C2 and get rid of that silly stock retracting thing...
I am asking for help, please advise parts and sources to get this mounted...

IF it is not going to work out, I will have to sell the wing to someone who has an MKII and can use it.....

Anyone want to offer me via PM I will consider suspension trades or money?? I actually want this on my car, but knowing my car is the least valuable 996 on the planet... adding a wing is somewhat of an illogical move (I know...logic doesnt matter, but sometimes it does...) If I add the wing I will enjoy it, but when I sell the car the wing wont add anything and will be lost in the transaction (most likely)

Thoughts / ideas
Thanks!

I think you need a complete engine lid. Did you pick this up from someone that switched to carbon ? Let me know if it is for sale. mgdv8@hotmail.com

Yes, you need the entire decklid as well. It would save someone a few bucks if they could cut a deal for just the lid, but not much. The problem anyone like this will have is unless they go OEM, whoever makes the lid will be reluctant to just sell it without having the wing on hand to ensure proper fitment. I know because I am in the exact same situation. I have an OEM MKII GT3 wing but not the lid.

Ed, just widen the *** of your car, put a set od Dualies on the rear, and mount that wing "as is," like I did to my car.

It looked so sweet!!

Wing is "mounted" though it seems a bit unstable at speeds in excess of 1/mph!

I ahve some good leads on a solution and hope to know more soon..Also there is some interest from people that want the wind since I am still on the fence about it....

If I get the matching yellow hood on, I should have my "Bumble bee" theme complete!!

The wing might be a little wide for your car. Have you checked on an OEM Carrera wing?? Either way, a wing would look good mounted on your car... painted black, of course.

That is a wide body wing that is (1) too big and overpowering for your narrow body car; and (2) needs the rear decklid with struts from a widebody (ala GT2) that will NOT fit your car.

What you are attempting is the equivalent to putting a round peg in a square hole.

ps. if you do happen to gorrila glue this sucker to your rear what are you doing about front aero balance???
