As far as the bumper vent goes, neither the FVD placement nor the PP really look "right" because the 7GT3 vent doesn't follow the curve of the 996 trunk line.
Better solution is likely to leave the bumper uncut or if you really want to have vents then have the 6GT3 style vents cut into it before painting.

I like the one without the vents better both in terms of looks, and also price. I'm looking for something like that for the race car I'm building, but honestly even at the lower price, I still find these things too expensive for my tastes.

I don't know if it's because I haven't seen too many after market bumper kit besides 996 aero / GT3 bumpers but I find them out of place. The openings look really like they were added and don't fit the rest. Why try to reinvent the wheel when the best look is GT3 bumper with cup splitter. Sorry Rhonda, I like what you're doing but not these bumpers. I always laugh at the kids with old BMW E36 trying to fit E46 M3 after market bumper......

Or I could vandalize a bentley grille and smuggle it back, might be a little tough stowing it securely in the overhead lockers but hey, you want quality you gotta work for it.

No worries. I completely respect your opinion. Personally, I have decided to put the GT3 rear bumper on my 987 S but the look really compliments the Boxster's center exit muffler. By the way it's wonderful to be called a kid

Rhonda, if you drive a Porsche and you hang around the list, you definitely qualify for a forever kid at heart. In my previous post I was talking about the front bumper but I agree that the rear bumper on a boxster looks kinda cool but what did you match it with for the front??

Personally, Similar to your stance that the perfect front bumper on a 996 is a 996 GT3 with a cup splitter....I feel that the original 987S front bumper with the Aero Kit / RS60 2 piece chin spoiler is perfect. I am also considering our GT3 front bumper though, as the lower "chin spoiler" is much more pronounced and will really help to take away that light front end feeling at high speeds. Either way I will eventually add the aerokit rear "spoiler" as mixing and matching downforce is not my cup of tea. But the suspension mods are first and foremost....
