Default Muffler Bypass Question

Just installed Fabspeed muffler bypass pipes on my 99 C4. Other than being louder are there any sort of drawbacks to running these pipes? The sound is very agressive.

Terrible low end torque. Makes sound system upgrade worthless. Makes horn a second choice.

They did take away some of my low end torque. I don't race my car, just use for a weekend vehicle; so I really didn't care that much. It is still as fast and strong as I need it to be.

They actually don't drone very bad on the highway at all.... for a system w/o mufflers. I'm taking them off of my car for now as they sound terrible with the top up - most definately a mod that I would steer away from if I had a hardtop. It's just too loud inside the car with the top up.

This probably isn't much help, because when I had mine on, I also had cat bypass pipes on as well. It was one of the dumbest things I've ever done. Just too loud. It had to scare the crap out of people as I passed them on the highway. I had them removed the following week and sold them. It was entertaining for about a day though. I would honestly spend the extra money and get a decent set of mufflers. Just my .02

Had them, loved them and hated the 55lbs of torque I lost on the dyno.

However, they still sit in my garage on the shelf for that one day when my neighbor glares at me again.
He has no idea how bad his morning coffee could get. And they drone like crazy.
