265 and 225-18 Winter tire recommendations
It is time to make a winter tire choise and get ready for ice and snow. Living in the north (Finland) tires that are good on snow and ice are important. As a new porsche owner, I must ask for your recommendations, fellow forum members.
I will use original 18 turbo twist rims. I am thinking about ordering the tires from here:

My car has not been driven during winter months in the past, thus, previous owner cannot help.

if it is an option, i recommend getting 17" wheels and winter tires. it'll keep your wheels nicer for summer.
i got a slightly used set of 18" dunlop winter sport m2s from another rennlister because my wheels are pretty rashed up so i didn't mind using them in winter. the dunlops were rated quite highly on tirerack.com

Sorry to ask, but I forgot and am too lazy to look, is your car a C4?
I would love to drive mine in the snow, but with a C2 I am not sure I will......
Here is some fun to get you thinking about the "way to aproach the snow"

I, too, am in the market for 18" snow tires for my C4S. I went with new rims, 8x18 in the front and 10x18 in the rear, which is 1" narrower than the stock C4S rims.
I've heard most people use either the Blizzak or Pirelli Snowsport tires for this application. I am going with the Pirelli choice, myself. They have the right overall dimensions of width and circumference to make it work.
Hope this helps....

My car is a C2 with no traction control. I suppose it is the worst possible carrera for winter
However, having owned the car just about two months now and the winter knocking at the door there is no way I can keep my hands off the car during next 5 or 6 months.
We have two other cars in the family to be used as daily drivers. Driving my porsche in the winter would be something I would like to do when the conditions pretty much match the first video you posted. Sunny, very low temperature, roads cleared from snow, no salt on the roads, hardly any traffic. Sunday driving every now and then.
Blizzaks are 938 euros per set for my car
Vredestein Wintrac Extreme 770 euros
Hankook W 300 654 euros
Continental WinterContact TS 810 S 1.050 euros per set
Continentals are recommended by Porsche.
Any comments on above ones?

the others are fairly highly recommended. also you might want to price the dunlop winter sports.
