GT3 Drivers seat for long trips?
I'm considering replacing my stock 996 C4 seat with a GT3 seat. I take a long trip once a year from Vermont to Florida. What is your experience with living with a GT3 seat for long trips? I plan to keep the stock passenger seat for access to the back.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I've driven to Tahoe multiple times (4+ hours from SF) and comfort has been fine. The seat is a bit too upright for me, but the lumbar support is fine. I'm 6'5" and generally have back pain so this is saying a lot.

I've made 5 hour trips in mine without problem. I find them comfortable once I'm in them. It is getting in (and particularly, out) that is a minor issue in my opinion.

3 hr drive to the track, drive 3 hours on track, drive home for another three hours. Comfortable and no issues.

i use them all the time here on long drives and find them more comfortable than the regular seats. im 6'4" and as such find them much more suitable than the regular seats which just never worked with me.
i added Brey Krause mounts which dropped the seat by an inch or two height wise and also allowed me to lean them back slightly (its only a couple of degrees) over the regular brackets which aids comfort and fit for me hugely.
its worth the investment over the porsche side mounts thats for sure. an interesting note is that ive had to adjust my other cars seats to almost upright now as i cant take the horrid feeling of leaning back in a car now.
for those finding back pain with them, try adding some hamstring stretches each night before bed or in the morning. you will find this makes a difference to comfort when in the seats.
one point though is that if you are heavy set or have soft edges these seats arent wide and so this may impact comfort for you

Had them in my 2001. They were very comfortable (I took many long trips, some 2-3K miles, and days in length). HOWEVER, I would never buy them again for off-track driving. They have no rake adjustment. They provide the perfect upright position for performance driving, but have no adjustment to roll back just a few degrees for more layed-back driving. Comfort and fit were not an issue. But I really hated not being able to ease back a few degrees on the rake, sometimes.
