install wiring harness for third brake light

a quote to fix it at $300, is it reasonalble? how hard is it to do it?

hahahaha... unplug 2 sockets RR to new harness plug 2 sockets... buy the cable yourself... its a DIY!

That's astounding - nope, they're trying to rip you off. Do it yourself (it's an easy job), then find another place to take your car to when you need other repairs.

here's a pic. the wiring seems difficult to take out, hence the outrageous estimate from the dealer. Assuming it is a dead wire, do you guys know where to tap. one more question, is it a voltmeter that i need to use to test if there's current flowing? thanks for you advice to my newbie (dumb) questions.
