Default Friend considering this C4S in Cary, anyone know it?

A good friend is looking at this C4s and I wondered if there might be any local knowledge on the car. I'm in CLT and can't do more than offer tips on what to look for but if anyone knows it or has seen it in person, it'd be much more helpful.

I saw it in person today, I was up there to pick up some parts. It looked like a nice car, I didn't get inside it or drive it however. Sorry I can't really give more insight.

This was traded in by one of our good customers. It is certified by Porsche. I have driven it a couple times and it is in great shape. It went through our shop and everything passed CPO inspection. It also has the sport exhaust which sounds amazing. Feel free to contact me if you would like a walk around by phone, or email with any additional questions. Not sure if your friend is already working with someone on this, but I would be more than happy to help out anyway I can.

Your friend should drive a 997 and then drive the 996 again. While this 996 is nice and the CPO is worthwhile, the 997 upgrade is significant. I love my 996 for track use but as a daily driver the 997 variant is amazing. I bought my 2006 Carrera S Cab with CPO for $74K so I would think a 2006 S with CPO for $65K is out there. IMHO

I have a C4S for sale in CLT - Asking $44,900 with less than 23k miles on it and CPO thru May 09. Lapis Blue/Savanna - it's in the classifieds if you want more details...
Car is in excellent condition!

It's a nice car, but do they really want $58K for it? You could get a low mileage TT for that or less, or a 997.

C4S's are known to hold their value.
My personal very unbiased opinion.....:-)

Saw it in person a few days back when I was up there. Looked nice, but I didn't drive it. To be honest I'd have to agree with the above comment on a TT for about the same price though. Still, the C4S is a very nice car.

If your friend is serious and wants me to go look at it, PM me. I can do it next week.

'Spose this isn't the thread to press you for more info on 996 v 997 but am curious if you found the most improvements in the engine, interior, or ride? All 3?

Saw the car in the ads and sent to him. Your car seems like a great deal and if not my friend, someone is going to get a good one, I think.

That's the bit that stuck a bit for me, the price but realize that some really love the extra features which the 4S brings

It's a very nice car with a lot of detailed options. I don't like the lower front lip painted, scraping it is inevitable and I wouldn't want the paint to start peeling there. But it does look good just sitting there.
I would knock off a good $5K from that price. It's too expensive IMHO. I bought a C4S 3 months ago from a P-dealer. I paid $55K for an 03 Speed yellow with 16.7K miles, X51, Xenon, PCM, Bose, Center cosole exterior color, Sport Exhaust, Sport Seats, Black Tech Art Formula wheels, and CPO of course. They were asking $58k or $59k.

Guys, I really appreciate your input on this but I think concerns about the economic climate have scared him off for now. Not sure he's wants to put the money into something like this right now.

I dunno. Back in June, would you have been better off putting $50K into a Porsche or into AIG stock? Or maybe Wachovia? Washington Mutual, perhaps? Lehman... ah, you get the point.

Tell your friend that you only live once and tomorrow a piano could fall on his head.
