No, disconnecting the little brown/red plug keeps the PSE in loud mode all of the time. That impacts the sound of the EXHAUST.

CAI is a cold air intake, and changes the sound of the air INTAKE to the engine, but not much more. IMO, don't waste you money on a CAI.

Honestly, I find it hard to believe that they can actually call this thing a cold air intake. I mean, really. It's a frikkin silicone tube! At least put some insulation on it or something.

I think a better name would be silicone wallet lightener.

..... and it sucks some of it's air from the hot engine bay!
