Smile Swapped pads - my thoughts

- Pad change itself is possibly even easier than an oil change
- When did the putty knife become a main tool in the chest?
- Newfound respect for pit crew wheel changers. Mine are only 10", but fully inflated are something else to toss around.
- Nothing quite has the same ring as saying: I busted the rubber (gloves), while jacking the car, and I still have to bed the pads.

I didnt use the vibration dampers, and because I used Hawk HPS, I tied back the sensors. No squeels from anywhere, *yet*. The way the vibration dampers fit into the pistons, they seem like an integral part of the setup. Is it really ok (mechanically) to be without them? Also, the pin/spring kit seems relatively unbreakable, why bother replacing it? How do I know the pads have been well-bedded? I've noticed that my driving style for everyday uses little braking.

just drive normally; no need to bed these like race pads. the surfaces will mate naturally over a couple hundred miles.

you're fine without the vibration shims; i promise.

i never saw the need to replace the pins either. if the pads actually slid on the pins, i'd feel differently, but they really don't contact one another. i re-use mine.
