I have always wondered what the Orient Express weighs, so I found a truck scale and weighed the car. An 02 996 C2 cab, I had a full tank of gas and myself on the scale, and it came out to 3580 lbs., 1440 lbs. on the front wheels and 2140 lbs on the rear wheels. 40/60.
Now that I have the weight of the car, I can download the "must have" application for my iPhone. or only $13 you can download the Dynolicious G-meter software for your iPhone or iTouch.
6GT3 w/half cage, euro gt3 seats, 1/2 tank no driver=3224.
On the other hand, the RS6 is 4302 with 1/2 tank no driver. And since its the anti-911 with the motor out front of the front axle line it likes to push it's way through the corners.
At 60 degrees Fahrenheit, a gallon of gasoline weighs about 6.15 pounds. So if the fuel tank has a capacity of 16.9 gallons (inc. reserve), or 104 lbs.
The owners manual has dry weights for all the variants for that particular year (not GT3 or GT2) for tip and standard in the back, but specifies a range (qualified as depending on equipment, e.g. satnav, bose stereo, full leather, wood, etc.)
... I had half a tank of gas in the car... driver's side EURO GT3 seat... full leather and sunroof... spare tire and some other stuff was in the front hood... not much though...
Well crap, I just found out about the G-Force and was thinking about getting one... THANKS to your youtube video I think I will consider something else (iphone / ipod program)
Thanks for the post, very interesting
I just spent some time searching this out, many of the user reviews had the same point... crashes and wont load car specs (which is required forHP measurments) It is supposed to load on iphone or ipod touch. The info I have says its great, but needs refining to be all it says it is, still for $13 (vs $100-$300 for G-force) it might give you enough to decide if you need more or can live with this much...
Something tells me after a few 100 times of running, many will grow tired of it and not use it, so the money saved is well worth the money spent...
