I finally decided to remove the rear seats a few minutes ago in MY99 C2.By far the simplest job I've done to my Porsche, taking well under 10 minutes with a T25 torx and the gentle removal of the plastic cap covering the single bolt. The seat backs and cushions don't weigh very much, but I like the new look and can reinstall easily. On my way to Conn. so I can see whether I like my newly acquired space or not.Looking forward to driving my Pcar.
Yes, and as mentioned, strips of (black) velcro where the seat cushions sit.I like the 'open' look out back after driving 340mi.I also left my seatbelts in.
for some reason I can't get the rear set out...the torx are all to smll or to big....sucks, because I need the space to make it more comfy for my little girl!

After reading earlier posts about rear seat removal, I bought some specialty bits as suggested, but they didn't fit. I think Porsche has used different bolt configurations for the attatchment location. Mine was a T25 torx and worked easily in my 99 996.

I think you are right, I have a selection of the torx bits...but none of them fit...I will look into the #25 hop that will do the trick!
It does look nice and clean with them out, I just wish that there was more of a weight-loss benefit to removing them. They're pretty light these days, and it's hard to find easy weight to lose on these cars w/o spending a lot. (Seats/exhaust/etc.).
