Default Installing CDC-4 in 2003 996 Cab w/bose

hi there,

so i decided to join 21st century and got myself a CDC-4 porsche OEM cd changer on ebay. i want to install it and hook it up myself before taking it to the tech to get the system reprogrammed so it would recognize it.

the question is: has anybody done it? sounds like i need to get a mounting bracket and a wiring harness. any clue on part numbers for these? any DIY documentation out there on how to get it going? thanks.

the car is 2003 996 Cab with bose sound.

I believe the wiring is in place. bracket should come w the changer. if you are going to pay the dealer to activate it, you might as well have them install it since they'll charge you an hour of labor anyways.

Did you know you can use the CDC input in the head unit for ipod? a lot of ppl use this instead of changer.

no brackets came with the changer, i bought it on ebay.

yeah, i know about iPod but i dont want to spend $400 on the dice adapter and i wont have MP3 tags on the screen anyways (so it will be like using iPod in the dark)

i wouldn't take it to the dealer, i'd take it to a local indy shop and they would charge for actual time spent (30 minutes, etc.)
