JUST GOT MY PORSCHE!!!
#16
I like the color... definitely not very common. I am interested to see some more pics. However, I do find it strange that you say that you noticed the air intake AFTER you got home. A word of advice for the future... spend a bit more time investigating before you spend those hard earned dollars. It may save you a big headache down the road. Hopefully you will not uncover any issues with the car, and all will workout well.
That's why I always go back again before I buy - and take someone with me so I get a 2nd opinion from someone who's not all exited about getting a new Porsche!

BTW, you asked about option decoders - use these two sites and you'll get everything that you need.

Oh ya guys, sorry I forgot to post the details, all the excitement didn't let me think.
Here they are:
2002 Porsche 996 w/aero side skirts
62,000 miles
Interior is grey / Exterior is like royal blue, but very metallic, & under certain lighting you see a tiny hint of purple-ish. I'm guessing it's Zenith Blue (not really sure, but I know it's definetely not Lapis)
Aftermarket options (that I've noticed so far) are just the EVO air intake & 2-piece wheels, clear side markers, tinted windows, & I SUSPECT an aftermarket exhaust, but can't be sure.
The option codes are tiny & the sticker was kind of blurry like it got wet or something, but these are the codes(actually the one that I listed as 253/263/283 is because I couldn't tell which number it was since it was smudged):
C02: Equipped with catalyctic converter
226: ??
253/263/283: ??
413: 18" Turbo look wheels (which actually aren't on the car, lol)
425: Rear wiper
437: Comfort seat left
438: Comfort seat right
446: Parts for type "Targa" belonging to stipulated assembly / 996: Colored Wheel Crests (again, not on the car)
476: Brake pad with abrasive pad / 996: Traction control
513: Lumbar support - right seat / Driver's Seat Lumbar Support
537: Left seat with positrol and lumbar
586: Lumbar support - left seat
601: Litronic Headlights
680: Digital HI-FI Sound System with Booster
692: Remote CD changer (6-disc)
Can someone help me figure out what 226 is, as well as the other code which I couldn't even tell wether it was 253/263/283??
Also, how can I find out the exact name of the exterior color??
...By the way, you guys are right, I'm guilty. I didn't get a PPI. I know, I know, that's a no no. But the guy gave me 30 days to have any problems checked & fixed under warranty & blah blah, so I'm going to have one done this week. Do you guys recommend I go to a Porsche dealership, or an indie?
Thanks a lot for all the great response!

Congrats and welcome. I'm sure you'll enjoy the ride. You might want to join renntech.org as well because for a small donation you will have a wealth of info available to you, include option decoding and TSB history on our cars. You'll find a lot of terrific and very helpful folks here on rennlist.

It could be 233 - for original tire Pirelli.
If you have an independent mechanic that knows Porsches - that's where I'd head.
I don't think your car is still under waranty and therefore, if your dealer is like the dealer in my neighborhood, he is looking for things to do and it may not be the best thing for you.

Nice ride and very fine details.
Do you think someone ordered it, and someone updated it. Interior options abound to match exterior I bet it was a little something nice first owner liked.
You can tell if it has a sport exhaust, but if no receipt or for some of the other things may be an indication.
Your mechanic will be serious Porsche tech. If you dont have one ( I bet you been to a few Porsche shops though) find one or the dealer will put you into training. Your mechanic will invest a lot of money in software and charge accordingly.
Thought about doing stuff on your own? Fresh water, oil, polish? Brakes, etc? Heck show us how to align it next right?
