Need Cat converter replacement for 02 996 C2
Any idea where is the best place to buy a stock or replacement Cat Converter for a 2002 996 C2? Just 80k km and the right cat started to rattle.
Any help would be appreciated.

By right side I assume you mean passenger side? Oh well, this is for a driver's side just in case. Too bad it's not closer....

I need the passenger side cat, in no rush for it and can wait to be shipped. The cat is functioning just the rattling can get anoying at times.

Porsche told me that the emissions warranty will not replace a cat simply due to rattling.
One of the local dealers here in Atl. thought a rattle I had was a cat (resulting in the above statement), but it was actually an interior rattle in one of my PSE cans.
My other PSE can is now beginning to develop the rattle as well. Damn it.

I've had both cats replaced in the past 18 months due to that rattle. Fortunately, they were covered by the CPO program. The stealership charged PCNA over $1800 EACH time.

If there is no cel code, dealer cannot replace under warranty. Just keep driving it, the cel code will come up. In my case, the cel lighted up approximate 1000km after they rattled.
New Cat at Sunset is around $800. DIY is pretty easy. FYI

Huh, here in So. Cal is easier to replace by the dealer. Last year, my left cat rattled and no CEL so I brought the car to my local Porsche dealer for check up because the noise bothered me. Service manager advised to replace the bad cat. He replaced both cats. Fed laws no charge. Went home with two brand new cats.
