anybody have a list of ABS controller part numbers
Heres the deal, mine went and the one in my car is 996 355 755 46 The part is no longer in the Porsche system. The newest part number I beleive is 996 355 955 46 (I think) but of course I want to see if I can find one used.
Can anyone tell me the numbers that superceeded the first one? I heard that its very common for there to be 4 or more part numbers used within a decade.
Thanks in advance for your help.

996 355 755 46 is likely a sub assembly part number. I see many ABS controlllers in the price list but none that use the 996 355 755 sequence.
What model and year is your car, 2WD or 4WD, and does it have PSM/TC?

There is a TSB showing how to upgrade your system.
Here is what the parts list shows for your model and year car.
Note the bottom list is what you will need - plus likely a PST/PIWIS for programming.

Thanks!
The situation I had was that my unit started leaking. So we found one out of another 2000 996 PSM equipped car. Brakes work now, but ABS and PSM light is on. We were really hoping that we had the right part, and that the different part number was due to a succession.
Now here in Canada that same part from a dealer is over $3500 Cdn........
Still trying to figure out what to do.

I realize that this is an old thread, but I'm in a similar situation. I have a 2000 996 C2 with PSM, and the main ABS/PSM unit is fried (996 355 955 46). Any pointers on upgrades or compatible part numbers? It's not clear to me if future year's models would work (ie -52).

Sandy, I have a MY '00 RWD ABS/PSM unit for sale. Fully operational, about 30.5K mls, was replaced by a different unit because of configuration change.
Only problem is thet it's located in Europe...
