I see alot of nice work on the car. The owner could very well be an owner of a body shop so the cost would be low and could be a great way of promoting his shop.

My friend is starting a 996 to 997GTRS conversion in 2 weeks. He does own a shop and will be into parts and labor is cheap. It will feature all FACTORY parts including door handles, mirrors tail lights and even GT3RS rear 1/4 panels.

I think the car here would look alot better without the crazy wheels that do not have the correct offset. Even if you put wider tires on the wheels they are WAY off! The color is HORRIBLE on the wheels also, they do not match the body color.

Not sure about trying to make one car model to look like another. Also, it's way too much going on for a Porsche in terms of styling.

I do not understand why people want to make a slow version of the real car. but to each their own

It's either on a flat bed or a stage. I wonder if it has touched a road while the engine was running.

I like it coz I'm visioning doing the following:

take the stickers off, paint with a better color scheme, fix the wheel offsets

All that makes it too ricey.. but to go the other way is boring too. The point is not everyone wants to look like a boring stock 911

How much is "Rp 4.000.000" in US bucks? Which brings me to the next question: how can one really justify the cost of converting an already costly 996 to something that is not far from a 997GT2/3, which could probably be had for less than the cost of the conversion work itself, not to mention the purchase price of the 996? Plus, I'm sure it would be annoying not being able to go anywhere without having 14 yr olds ask you "are you Paul Walker?" and "What is Vin Diesel like in real life?" or "can you get me a date with Michelle Rodriguez?"

Guys - it's a SHOW car! The reasons for the build, the style are very different from the reasons you or I would modify our cars.
