As the president of Hurricane Region, PCA, I want to publically appologize to Bob and members posting on this thread for the side-road it has taken, and the apparent animosity that has developed. I chose this thread for my response rather than creating a new one, since this is where the exchanges have taken place.
The reason for Regions in PCA is to make it possible for members to attend events as close to home as possible, without having to drive several hours each way (though that can be enjoyable at times). Whether you belong to Carolinas, Hurricane, Peachstate or any other PCA Region, you are first and foremost a PCA member. The Regions are there for the members' convenience, as for the most part, any PCA member is welcome to participate in any PCA Region's events. The is certainly our policy and I am sure that it is Carolina's policy as well.
Unfortunately, when Hurricane Region was formed over 10 years ago, PCA split the Raleigh/Durham/ Chapel Hill are in two, essentially dividing what has become a single metropolitan area. This only affects initial assignment of new members to a Region if they do not specify which Region they want to join. As a PCA member, you can join any Region you want, whether you live there or not.
This is not and should not be an issue of whose "territory" events are held in. What is important from the standpoint of PCA, is that members have access to events and don't leave the club because "there was nothing to do locally".
Again, I am sorry this got out of hand, and encourage all of you you to participate in whatever events you wish, be they Carolinas, Hurricane or non-PCA related.

I completely echo Jerry's position regarding PCA membership (he just beat me to it!). Your official region "membership" is your decision, and as I'm sure Jerry would agree, any and all PCA members are welcome to any region's PCA events, regardless of what region you belong to.

Thank you, Bob. The more the people at the Bean & Bagel enjoy themselves, the more excited we'll be to participate in more PCA events. Most of the people at the Bean & Bagel are already actively involved in many PCA events from both regions.
And at the end of the day, we're there for the opportunity to enjoy our cars and the people who enjoy them like we do. We're not curing diseases or fixing the economy.
*** Update from Yesterday ***
It was great to meet Ken ('88 928) for the first time. Randy, Dell, Charles, Rich, Michael, Martin and I had a very enjoyable morning. It was great to see everyone.
So, without furter delay, here are the pictures from yesterday! I hope to see everyone next weekend.

Jeez Ken, I thought it was the opposite - that your 8 cylinder monster was too good to be parked next to our poor little 6 cylinder econoboxes.

Hi, everyone. Just wanted to let you know that I'll be at the B&B this weekend, as usual. I would have liked to attend the Carolinas BBQ in Spartanburg, but it's been a heavy travel week at work and I have a strong desire to stay local this weekend.
Hope to see you at the Bean & Bagel on Saturday morning.

Actually, I'm surprised my insatiable appetite for BBQ hasn't motivated me to go by myself. But, I'm pretty sure my wife would notice that I'm gone.

It wouldn't be the same without the post-meet fun run - following Bob and John again
I still haven't got the hang of the mirror shot yet but take my word for it, Steve's 993 looked great back there
At the post-run cooling down spot
John and Steve were no doubt discussing the timeless beauty of that 1988 Carrera. It only looks like they are talking about Steve's 993.
Here, I'm sure Steve is pointing out to John that black is the best color on a Porsche.
I'll look forward to seeing you guys again next week!
