Oh, Randy Joe? Yes, I know him well. I just didn't know which Randy you were talking about. Yes, he paddocked right across from us. He's still "learning" RA a bit he said.

Papa Smurf did well. got lap times down to 1:42 which is my best yet.

My guess is he took out another instructor that has never been to RA.
Great time for the Papa!!! I have no idea what the SPBOX can do but we'll find out in March when we head back for the Club Race. Not sure I can match the time of the RSA (1:39).

Won't be able to attend the Saturday morning get-together during November
I'll see if I can meet ya'll up at VIR and take a few photo's that Saturday afternoon.

Sorry to hear John but priorities take over sometimes. At least you can be the official SCR photographer at the VIR event. Just make sure to get Scott's white gloves of terror!

Quite a big day today. We had a couple new guys show up at coffee. Bruce in his 2007(?) Maritime Blue 997, and Jerry in his Red Boxster.
Scott (White C4S)
Dell
Ken (Grey 928)
Ken (Silver Cayman)
Randy (Blue 996 Aero)
Rich (Blue Boxster)
George (Back 996 Cab)
John (Red Boxster)
Bruce (Blue 997)
Jerry (Red Boxster)
After coffee we headed to 3G race shop in Greensboro where the owner Greg gave us a detailed tour of his new facility and the cars that were there. He then did free tech inspections for a few of us, drained and filled George's transmission fluid, and swapped in some new pads in prep for my trip to the Carolinas DE @ VIR in a couple weeks.
Greg was very generous with his time on a Saturday and we're very appreciative. I look forward to doing more tech sessions at Greg's shop, 3G.

Greta photo's Scott.
That shop sure is clean inside.
Next weekend I'll be in Germany and hope to stop by at VIR on the following Saturday after I get back.

Scott - White 996 C4S
Randy - Blue 996 Aero
Rich - Camry in lieu of Blue 911 Cab
George - Cayman S
Dell - Escalade in lieu of Red 996 Cab
Charles - Lexus LS430 in lieu of Blue 996
Jeff - Grey 996
Martin - Black 996 C4S
Ken - Grey 928S
Nor a pretty day by the usual standards but a good turnout. Most of the talk focused around the upcoming Carolinas Region PCA DE @ VIR late next week.
A couple of the guys went on the drive afterwards, but most of us had to get back.

As Scott mentioned, only 3 of us went on the fun run, me, Martin and Randy. Only one drive shot was worth keeping.
We finished up at Jordan lake. Here, Martin and Randy are surely discussing the timeless beauty of that 1988 Carrera.
To make up for the lack of good shots from today, I'll add some from last week's BBQ run to Hog Heaven.
Following the yellow GT3, driven by Charles (I hope I remembered correctly) is SCR's Charles, lollygagging behind, followed by Mark and his daughter.
Martin leading the group through another curve.
Larry and Frank followed by Andreas and his son.
There were several places where some leaves were stirred up and I wanted to get a good shot of Mark's Boxster with the leaves flying but my photography skills aren't up to that task.
There's Charles lollygagging again behind Andreas. Now that he is a track star with his own pit crew and pom-pom girls, he hasn't been powersliding through the curves as much lately.
After lunch, Mark led a nice drive down 157.
Martin (with +1) and Andreas following up.
