Here is the thread at 6speed 997 forum from AWE with dyno charts. Smoking gun? Post #71 for the impatient among you.

Sure as heck ain't worth a grand!!! The concept makes no sense at all for NA engines, as the air is SUCKED in by the vacuum of the cylinder, so it will travel the shortest path. As the stock plenum is already ID radiused, there is no change in flow velocity, PLUS you lose the reflected pressure wave reinforcement that is designed into the OEM intake plenum.

Yes, we know, this event is a result of the AWE dyno. I drive a 996 and would like to see what happens on cars similar to mine.

Gotcha, makes sense now. I'll be curious to see the results. At least it sounds like it will be fun.

I'm for a DC Dyno day and have been tracking these discussions for quite sometime. I'm curious to see if they really do net any gains.

I love how the dynos prove what I said all along>>>>>>>>>>>>no gains

The factory intake is way way way way way larger than it needs to be on a 296-320 hp motor. Porsche did their homework..........

More tests can't hurt.

I agree...any excuse to get a bunch of Porsche motor heads together for food, drink, & bragging, I'd make the DC event just for that.
