Default 996 rebuild

It looks like a cylinder head has cracked on my engine. The guys are saying they can rebuild it and not have to replace the whole unit. This all sounds good but what are the chances of the engine having recurring problems or the head may go again??What are peopel experiences of rebuilt engines whose cylinder heads have cracked??

It depends on how an where it is cracked - and how good the welding company that fixes it is.
In the US a new cylinder (without the labor to install it) is over $2500.

Knowing the level of expertise among HK mechanics, I would not go the rebuild route...do it right and less headaches over the long term.

i'd buy a used head from a salvage yard & have it serviced by a machine shop and installed in the car.
