Actually, I was more referring to which Gillette product... I assume the Classic Shave Foam? Also, which end goes up (concave up or concave down)?

Phil G. is one of a kind. He walked up to my freshly waxed Carerra at a Fabspeed Meet and Greet about 5 years ago and told me that the only thing he liked about my car was the Obama for Prez sticker on the back window. Classy!

remove the hose and stick the cap on top of the airbox opening like you were putting it on the can...then re install the hose

great mod, cheap and I never saw a down side...forgot it was in there when I sold the car too

In actual fact, the orange cap mod has been updated; after extensive testing over the last few years I found that the Orange cap performance could be improved. The engine will run cooler if you use the 'green' cap from menthol shaving cream cans. Your all welcome.

Next up is my long term test report on using Helium in my tires for improved un-sprung weight.

ummmm, I hate to resurrect this thread but.... what Gillette shaving cream? The photos are no longer up in the first post that started this thread, and I have not a clue what you're talking about.

Are there any photos out there of the the kind of cap to use?

this is a really "fun" mod

costs like nothing too...
I used the "Gel" IIRC

just pull up the intake hose and roughly measure...go get the can of shaving cream that is close in size...it's really easy to pic it from the ones at the store (i think its a smaller sized diameter can)

post a pic when you get it

I trimmmed the baffle to where only the nipple remained, I then sealed the opening with another piece of the baffle that I cut into shape. No gillette caps for me. Those caps get brittle and id hate to see something fly into my intake.no cel, no issues, just more intake noise

Ill post one tonight. But its rather simple, I dremeled the bafflebox off the nipple and cut out a flat portion of the remaining box. I then epoxied the flat cutout on to the nipple and let iy dry. once reinstalled the flat cutout keeps things sealed, and I have no worries of that composite plastic becoming too brittle. Its that simple

I had the air box open to inspect my filter the other weekend and I remembered this "mod" while I had things apart and stole the cap off a can in the shower. Definitely gave the car at least the same HP increase as the sticker on my rear window.

Ok, so I did this mod yesterday (it was not exactly a 10 minute mod because I had to trim the cap to fit, a real PITA). My exhaust has the internal flap welded into the open position so I already have a rather aggressive sounding "motorsound" exhaust note and unfortunately this did not do much for my full throttle ego. But I suspect if my exhaust note were not as significant then this may make my intake chortle a bit louder.
