From: looking for a job ... Colorado by bye 996 C4 :(
Thanks everyone. It's hard to stay focused at times. After a day of networking my contacts it is really grim in my part of the area. So looks like my job search truly will be looking at other states.

Lost my job today. Lay off due to no work. This is going to make my life real interesting. Our projects kept getting pushed back from the developers due to the fact the banks will not lend the money for their projects.
Anyway, does anyone need a Civil Designer?
Sorry for off topic but I just needed to vent.

Montreal does, but I don't think anyone in charge realizes it...

Live beneath your means? Where have you been? Clearly not in the USA. I remember moving to NYC in 1994 and every other car on the road was a pile of trash. Now, virtually every car is a brand new leased SUV, and in this mkt. I have not sympathy for people complaining about gas. I'd be a lot happier if my savings account actually offered me some real savings interest, but I guess it's better to bail out the imbeciles who gambled on an overpriced home than to vindicate those of us who were prudent and "lived beneath our means". Next time round, I am going to spend like our government.

Hang in there..
I was layed off last year (computer animation) and thought the world was conspiring against me and was pretty pissed at first. I took several months off while deciding where I was going to go. I decided to use it as an opportunity to make a new start in a completely new environment, so I searched for and got a job on the east coast (I was in San Diego). I'm so glad I did, and as my Mom always told me: everything happens for a reason, and everything always seems to work out for the best. Now I'm happier than ever and am having new adventures as I begin a new phase of my life.
