Default My 996 w CCW 14 / Toyo R888s

Here a pic of my CCW 14 rims (GT3 offset) I got from Lt Ramos this past month. Thx Joe, the rims are superlight compared to my Gemballas.

The offset is not aggressive enough for me with 255/295 tires. I lost 20mm of rear track width.

Here's a picture of a OE Boxster 9" rim with 275 rubber. No spacer needed. Currently -1.8 neg camber so with more camber dialed in it should tuck into the wheelwell nicely.

Here's the difference between a 255 and 275 r888 tire on a 9" rim.

I am going to try out the 275/295 rubber at this coming weekend's AX and see how it performs. For the track I think I will stick with the 255/295 combo until they wear out then switch over to 275/315s.

good wheels! I'd love to have a set of C14s for the DE/canyons!

Those look great. Would you mind sharing how much they weigh (and cost)? Also, any pictures of the entire car with them on?

I assume you mean the 275 Boxster S rim? Porsche actualy do not make a Lobster Claw rim wider than 18x9". I haven't weighed it yet. I initially was going to put together a inexpensive 'ghetto' track setup with an OE 9" front and CCW rears.

The CCWs are light, someone posted the figures before on Rennlist. They weigh in the low 20#s. Cost is 2600-2700 new. The CCW 9" with a 45et doesn't leave a lot of inner clearance. I'll probably mount a 5-7mm spacer down the road after my next alignment.

I actually meant the CCWs. I need to do more research, man tracking a 996 looks like it's going to be a lot more expensive. W/the BMWs, you just throw on a set of Kosei's and call it a day... Less than $1k, and 17lbs a piece. You got to pay to play though...
Ahmet -->Misses 16 inch R comps and prices of the 944 Turbos :'(

Spring,

What are the offsets on the Boxster 9"? ... It seems to stick out further than I remember when I had a set mounted. Was thinking of mounting a 275 on a 17x9.5 maybe your offset # will confirm what I am thinking or steer me away.

BTW: how did you loose track using the wider GT3 rims they are 18x11 ET63 correct? That is pretty agressive already, what did you have before?

The CCW14s look fantastic!

Run the Ghetto setup for Auto-X...for open tracking I think you'll find the 255/295 combo is really good on the car.

Are your CCW's an 8.5' front or 9' front?

18x9 43et on -1.8 camber. With more neg camber it 'should' fit right into the wheelwell. There really is almost no inner clearance. Probably mount them today and drive it on the street for a bit.

I ran 10.5" 46et rear which would effectively be a 11" 53et rear so that is about 20mm total compared to the 11" 63et CCW. On a 295 tires, 11" 53et should fit perfectly with -2 camber.

The 255/295 combo is really nice for DEs. The ghetto 275/295 setup we'll see if will work out for AX, in theory I expect it is faster. 9". Wanted a 9.5"/11.5" combo but some deals are hard to pass up.
