I *think* you can re-use the stock rubber upper mounts from your car to install these. Paul 996 would be able to tell you for sure as he's using the stock GT3 setup on his 996 C2.
**Edit** I take that comment back. Here's paul's thread about it and he's using stock GT3 mounts as well and from the looks of the pictures I Know our rear moutns won't work...and the front's where you really want the monoballs anyhow so might as well do both.

Bill,
Go aftermarket with the front upper mounts aka camber plates. HWK72 used Tarrett front camber mounts recently on his 996 Cab to use a takeoff GT3 susp. A lot of GT3 owners keep their front upper mounts since they have camber adj and are monoball.
For the rear upper mount you can go GT3 stock or something a little nicer aftermarket.
uhh basically what Jon said

On pole, I don't want to hijack your thread, just offering bits you are missing...
If someone in the DC metro area ends up wanting On pole's setup, I have the front factory monoballs to make his set complete. $180

Hey Stephen,
Do you know what those front upper strut mounts are from? The part # ends in an R which is odd. It is the motorsport part.. The Stock GT3 # I have off my units is 996 343 011 91
Not having mine to look at (they are in the car) they look identical as far as I can recall and from looking at pictures.

Make sure you also have the adjustable drop link perch that is at the bottom of the shocks and the drop lnks. Also would be a good time to move to the GT3 adjustable sways as well.

To those that sent messages, my intent was to help out the OP complete his set with local availability of parts. It was not my intent to ship these out. However, if nobody local wants them to go with the OP's set I will ship them.
Paul,
They will fit a '99 996. I put one assembled strut on the passenger side of my car for a test fit. I didn't install them due to concerns over ground clearance and went with the M030 instead. The GT3 struts are much shorter and almost fall into place compared to the stock suspension which was a little hard to get under the fender.
Maybe someone that knows a bit more about GT3's can explain the part number (996.343.181.9R) difference. I have no idea.

Stabilizer Block for GT3 Shocks
Anyone know where I can get the stabilizer block (Item #4) for GT3 shocks? It is not available from Porsche as it comes as one unit with the shock. I got a quote from GMG for $200/ea?? I think it is over priced! Still waiting quote from couple shops.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thx

Yup, that is the one.
FYI: you only need it for the rear shocks, it is a must. I have seen a few aftermarket versions for these from various places (remember to look in the 993 sections).
On the front shocks you have an alternative mounting point to that stabilizer block, since you will likely use adjustable drop links anyhow you mount them to the pinch bolt on the top of the wheel carrier.
Most aftermarket adjustable drop links will include the necessary hw to use that location, double check.
