Floor Jack for the 996

Floor Jack for the 996
I need to buy a floor jack that would fit under the lift points of my 996. I bought the adapter and all the floor jacks available to me (NAPA, Autozone) the cup is either too small for the adapter or too big (I'm not sure that is safe!). Could you please share your secrets?
Also, how would one fit the car stands under the jack points?
Many thanks in advance.

I bought one from sears, around $120 and use a hockey puck. The process is to lift the car at the rear jack point until the front jack point on the same side is high enough to put the jack stand under, same thing on the other side, then use the jack at the engine lift point (do a search) and get the back end up high enough to get the jack stands under. It's really simple once you do it. The only thing I have not been able to do is get the car really up in the air using this method.

I have an adapter plate for my jack that looks like this one, but cost only around $20.

I think I bought the adapter from Tweeks, but I didn't see it on their web site. I bought my jack from from Pep Boys for around $40 ("Pro Lift" brand). The adapter plate fits on top of and around the top of the jack lifting circle.

I use the Torin Pro Series ($80) from Costco and a hockey puck.

I use the same one from Costco online. Best part about this one is that when it does blow out and they all will you just drop it off at your local costco for a full refund - no questions.

I bought the Costco one too....and I see that Radial Tire had three of them they said they had used for over a year....still going strong. If they're good enough to last a year at Radial Tire...that's good enough for me. Also use the hockey puck.
The Costco jack fits under my TT as well as the even lower 930.

I really liked this one from Sears. Saw it at the store and took it home . . .

I have a small sears jack that I just dropped the smaller hockey puck in and it works just fine. A smaller insert won't matter as long as it can't slide out of the jack cup.
I just took a spade bit and cut out a round hole about 1/4" deep in the middle of the hockey puck, drilled a hole in the middle of that depression, and put a bolt in it thru the hole in the bottom of the cup with a washer and nut on the bottom side. Sits there nice and solid.
