Car Vac - recommendations
I need a good quality rechargable car vac. Had a B&D Dustbuster which was OK, but rechargable battery died (I seem to have recurrent battery problems, no?). I don't want to spend a fortune, just a recommendation for a unit that works well, is durable, and has strong suction. And, not one named "Kristen."

I couldn't resist Phil....you have to 'use' your car to get the interior dirty.Did you get the Audi TT yet? I had an 02' 225hp TT coupe that I bought new and overall it was a very good car and lots of fun, but personally I prefer my old 996.

Damn got beaten to it... Phil, for such low level use, you could just use your house vac.
The weather today is so nice that I wish I'd gotten the car out to give it a good wax job.

I bought one of these. Now I just pull to my garage like I'm at a car wash.

Yeah, I was asking for it! TT is on order and expected by early June. It will be great to have both the TT roadster and the C4S coupe. I'm hearing very good things about the TT - I think it'll be more fun than the S4. Remember, I pledged to drive the Porsche this year! Not in the rain/snow mind you, but I will use it.

Well it does double as a waterboarding kit. I purchased a little Ryobi cordless handheld vac to clean out my pellet stove. It's very nice because none of the ash escapes into the air due to it's filter. I also owned an Orek(sp?) car vac which was a piece of junk.

We plan on using waterboarding to haze freshmen Senators and Congress people that's why it's legal. I believe my girlfriend ordered my Oreck from www.griotsgarage.com. I'm sure Oreck's home vacuums are great but I think the car vac is just a "rebadge" job.

I found and ordered a replacement battery for all of $15 for my B&D V2210 DirtTamer. I actually read some reviews of the Oreck unit that we not favorable. I'll see how the new battery works - if it's still a problem, I'll bite the bullet and order one of them big suckers.

I went the plain route and got this one from Lowes, $85. It hangs on the wall, take be carried, and they had a micro tool set that adapts they sell that's great for the interior.
