Default Is this an aftermarket subwoofer?

Hey.

I found this on ebay, but not sure if this is orginal or not?

If this a subwoofer shelf? Good or bad?

Quality should be like oem. As far as I know it wasn`t included in Bose sound system (someone who has it can tell us) but the bose system can be upgraded with that subwoofer. I think it`s the "mk1" version and "mk2" has mid range speakers and centre sub woofer.

Its the OEM sub that comes with the upgraded Bose unit. They used a different sub in the cabriolets.

Guys, that is the cabinet for the subwoofer, with the outlet ports. The actual subwoofer is behind it. I am surprised he did not post a picture of the actual subwoofer. That would be a simple shot from behind or below the unit. Maybe it's me and I'm paranoid, but if this is a scam, you could end up with the cabinet with the ports but without the subwoofer.

Here's what it looks like installed:

Can you post a picture how the subwoofer looks like and does this subwoofer fit a coupe? And does it sound good?

I'd have to take the cabinet down again to take the pic. I took it down to access panels I had to trim to place the roll bar. Long story. I took the pic above to show what the back of the C4S looks like without the seats and with the roll bar. The subwoofer was just in the background. Anyway, the subwoofers are right behind those ports, easily seen if you flip the cabinet. Maybe you can ask the seller to take a pic, since he already has it down.

Does it sound good? Not really. The whole Bose system in the 996 isn't very good. The lows kinda sound muddy. The only advantage to getting the OEM Bose subwoofer is that it is OEM, the original. If you want something that actually sounds good, you are probably better off getting an aftermarket one.

The Bose in a cab sounds better than the Bose in a coupe.

Maybe it's because of the footwell sub, but there is a huge difference
