Possible. Hard to tell from that angle. They look to be about right.

on the narrows, i like a more conservative tip and prefer a flat bottom kinda like the ones on the MK2 Carrera - not sure if anyone makes them, but my trained eye... i'd design one like so for the mk1. i think rob's tips are too round and big just like his ego.

I quite disagree. The square-bottom tips are more congruent with the MKII's flatter bumper fascia, but they wouldn't go as well with the MKI's as it's more rounded on the bumper bottom. I think the large ovals look more appropriate for the MKI (and this has nothing to do with Rob's ego).

Simply go with the Sports Ovals from Porsche, I have them and the are a perfect fitment for a MK1.
Here is a representation I hope helps....

Chad,

Why don't you like the black tips? Just curious.

Those are nice.

I totally understand the point of view expressed by some that the tips should blend into the surface design of the car, if that's your thing. Me, I prefer tips that look like they're part of the engine, kinda peeking out from under the car. Less sleek, more mechanical.

chad...i think these are the one's you want. they measure 5.5" and 3.5" across and in height respectively. if you are interested i'll sell them to you for $175.00 plus shipping. this is half the cost of brand new tips. they are from my previous 01 cab.

let me know....manny.
