I think the Gurney looks cool, but until you are driving your Pcar at very high speeds, I can't imagine any aero or downforce benefit especially at highway speeds.

There is no doubt the Gurney lip adds some downforce and is functional, the question being, How can Porsche charge $275 for a little strip of Plastic. Even the front spoiler lip is only $75. I could not have replicated the front lip, but the gurney flap was easy. While I probably won't notice the performance enhancement, it certainly completes the aerokit look. I'm satisfied with my creation, the look, and my $255 in pocket TYVM.

Im sure as I have to replace parts, Ill find more items where price does not make sense. Welcome to the world of Porsche I guess.

Porsche charges that much because folks are willing to pay that much. No more. No less. Just like the gov't paying $600 for hammers back in the early years of space flight. To pad the bottom line for something else...
I just looked closely at that E-bay website offered above for those $28 spoilers and those babies are a WHOLE lot bigger than the one on my factory Aero I taco spoiler. Those are meant to BE the spoiler, not a Gurney Flap ON a spoiler. Those might look good on your Honda or Toyota sedan rear deck, but NOT as an add-on to a Porsche spoiler.

You only buy the gurney lip once... the front lip is a throw away. Im on my 2nd set front lip.... The taco wing is rare... they are hard to find, why put after market on it. Im sure the prices will just go up from here.... you're lucky you are not in the market for a PSE, the 3.4 engine cost more than the 3.6. Just bite the bullet and move on..... yes, welcome to the world of Porsche.
