Default So long and thanks for all the fish

Well, the 996 was tainted in my eyes.... After the last vandalism of her I just didn't have it in me to put any more effort into the car. So, she's gone. Traded in on the car pictured below. I think I'm better off back with my little rice rocket.

I'll probably still visit here from time to time but wanted to take the opportunity to thank everyone here for all the kind words in my times of need. The technical advice I received was also great. I have a few odds and ends to sell that I'll post here when I get round to it.

Thanks again for being a great community.

Well, at least you traded it in for something understated and not flashy that is unlikely to get vandalized just like the Porsche did.....

Good luck w/the new car...

Yes, it's an Evo X.

Yep. It's obvious that the car, being so understated and subtle, will be overlooked by everyone, vandals included.

I have my eyes on an '07 Taurus with 33K for $9,500. The Evo's probably going to be a garage/track queen. Plus, if you've read any of my posts you know it wasn't the vandalism that caused me to sell the 996; the vandalism was just the straw that broke the camel's back.

UFO007, good luck with the Evo. It's a great car! Which model is it? MR? GSR?

The MR doesn't come with a manual tranny. Besides, I don't think the MR is even available yet.

UFO007, congrats on the new EVO X! White makes that snout even more pronounced. Styling-wise, I still prefer the EVO IX. Have fun and enjoy!

Have to agree there. But, the X is much more refined and handles just as well so I can live with the looks.

It's like driving a sporty SUV after getting out of the 996 .

It's too bad about the Porsche, but I understand your reasons for dropping her. Good luck with this one.

Great looking car. I don't know Mitsubishi very well...it looks like you own two of the same cars (newer/ older)?
