Only outside of work do I even begin to try. LOL I'm really not that flashy of a guy. With that said, I do have fun with the finer things in life while at the same time understand that it means nothing without being a good person with good people around you.
pharma doesn't pay. that industry is going down (for now). and i can't relate to the product since i don't take any pharmas (for now).

Fun fact: James Sun who is the CEO of Zoodango who also appeared on The Apprentice is an acquaintance of mine. Good guy.

I like them because I like to drive. When I first went to the track I felt like I instantly belonged.
I normally drive the truck to work as we have a bit of a dust problem. Might get hit with the heavy equipment that rolls around during the day too.
What you drive really doesn't make you who you are. Customers want to deal with successful people because it shows other people believe in your knowledge and skills.

Guilt is useless and self serving. Remember when you are guilty it is YOU that feels BAD with no guarantee that anyone esle gives a S#!T.

I have never felt "guilty" but certainly conscious about the 3 p-cars that I have owned over the years. My current (soon to be past) boss always mentioned the p-car whenever money came up and I suppose I understand the perception of elitism and/or wealth. Funny thing is that she knows how much I make and that isnt all that much so it was a silly perception on her part.
When peers hear about or see me with the car they invariably comment on it. My answer is always the same and seems to satisfy most: "I bought it used for less than half the original price and I do almost all maintenance myself so the cost of ownership is really low. Your mid-tier well-appointed sedan costs about the same. Besides, if I am gonna work 11 hours a day I want to enjoy te ride to and fro." Then I go on to explain that I have raced vintage HSR and instruct for a number of car clubs and that I am a true car nut. Love to wrench as well.
